Herman Plum

Characteristics: one of the best quality early-season variety which originated from Sweden. It is delicious eaten fresh but it is also suitable for culinary purposes. Herman is quite resistant to plum pox. The tree starts to bear fruit early and moderately.

Fruit: medium-sized (weight: 30-35 grams), oval. The skin is dark maroon covered by an intensive violet-blue coating.The flesh is yellow, delicate, sweet with a hint of acidic flavour. The stone falls away easily from the flesh.

Ripens/Harvest: late July

Characteristics: a very tasty, dessert variety which comes from Romania. It is excellent eaten fresh but can also be used for preserves (jam, juice). It is resistant to plum pox and quie resistant to frost. The tree fruits abundantly and regularly.

Fruit: large to extra large (weight: 50-60 grams), round or round-elongated. The skin is dark purple. The flesh is yellowish-green, very tasty, juicy. The stone falls away easily from the flesh.

Ripens/Harvest: first decade of August

Pollinators: probably self-fertile but produces more fruit in the presence of Cacanska Lepotica

OULLINS GOLDEN GAGE 

Plum Oullins Golden GageCharacteristics: a French variety which is believed to be one of the most delicious dessert plums, however, it is also ideal for all kinds of preserves (jam, juice, dried plums, plum brandy- slivovitz). It is resistant to most of the plum diseases.

Fruit: large to extra large (weight: 40-50 grams). The skin is golden-yellow covered by a white coating. The flesh is golden-yellow, soft, jelly-like, aromatic, exceptionally tasty, the stone falls away easily from the flesh only when it is fully ripe.

The tree starts to bear fruit very early (even 2 years after planting) and it fruits extremely abundantly and regularly (however, it has a bennial tendency if planted on poor soils).

Fruit: medium-sized (weight: 35 grams), round or oval. The skin is dark blue with an intensive blue coating. The flesh is greenish-yellow, very delicate, aromatic, sweet. The stone falls away easily from the flesh.

The tree starts to bear fruit early (about 3 years after planting) and it fruits abundantly and regularly.

Fruit: large to extra large (weight: 50-70 grams). The skin is light red with brownish spots. The flesh is yellow, very tasty, firm, juicy, a great balance of sweet and acid flavour. The stone falls away easily from the flesh.

COUNT ALTHAN’S GAGE

Plum Count Althan's GageCharacteristics: a Czech dessert variety which is considered to be one of the most attractive and best-flavoured gages. It is also known as Reine Claude Conducta. The tree starts to bear fruit early and it fruits moderately and regularly every year.

Fruit: large (weight: 40-50 grams), round. The skin is red pink colour covered by a dark purple blush. The flesh is delicate, very tasty, rich in vitamins and minerals. The stone falls away easily from the flesh.

It is extremely easy to handle, it is tolerant to plum pox (sharka) and resistant to most plum diseases, which makes it perfect not only for commercial orchards but also for our small gardens. It starts to bear fruit early, three years after planting, and it fruits regularly and abundantly.

Fruit: large to extra large (weight: 55-60 grams), elongated, slightly flattened. The skin is dark-purple or maroon-blue. The flesh is yellow, or orange, hard, acid-sweet, not very juicy, very tasty. The stone falls away easily from the flesh.
